چکیده

Hemp seed meal may be a suitable protein supplement for dairy cows, but its quality and safety as cow feed has not yet been fully investigated. As result, dry matter intake (DMI), rumen fermentation, blood metabolites, total-tract digestibility, concentrations of cannabinoids in plasma, urine, muscle, adipose tissues were compared among nonlactating Holstein cows receiving basal partial mixed ration that was supplemented with either 10.2% (DM) hemp (HM treatment), 13.5% DM canola (CM or 6.25% 6.16% (HC treatment). Diets formulated to isoenergetic isonitrogenous. Six nonlactating, nonpregnant used repeated 3 × Latin square design trial three 3-wk experimental periods. The first 2 weeks each served adaptation. Sample data collection occurred during the third week period. Neither nor contain cannabidiol (CBD), cannabidiolic acid (CBDA), d9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), tetrahydrocannabinolic A (THCA-A). However, contained 3.0, 4.4, 0, 0.1 μg/g CBD, CBDA, THC, THCA-A, respectively. Treatment did affect DMI, pH, volatile fatty acids ammonia rumen, digestibilities crude protein, plasma glucose, urea, β-hydroxybutyrate, nonesterified acids. Hence, based on these treatment nutritional status cows. neutral detergent fiber digestibility CM (43%) higher than HM (38%). No detected fluid, urine. Cannabinoids also kidney, liver, at end experiment when had undergone all treatments. Feces from treatments detectable THC feces HC 0.42 0.40 CBD 0.68 0.67 This indicated most ingested CBDA absorbed instead excreted feces. Our show dietary inclusion rates up DM. We find is high-quality safe

Canola Meal as a Protein Source for Lactating Dairy Cows

Canola is an offspring of rapeseed (Brassica napus and Brassica campestris/rapa), which was bred through standard plant breeding techniques to have low levels of erucic acid and glucosinolates. Canola seed is rich in oil, and after oil extraction, the remaining “canola meal” (CM), is a rich protein source used as feedstock to different animal species, mainly dairy cows in North America and in E...

Salmonella genotype diversity in nonlactating and lactating dairy cows.

Dairy cows may serve as asymptomatic carriers of Salmonella. The potential for herd carrier status increases with herd size, and Salmonella shedding may be triggered by stresses placed on the animals. The scope of the current study is to determine the effects lactation may have on Salmonella genotypic diversity among detected serotypes. Fecal samples were collected on two sampling dates from 60...

Milk quality, manufacturing properties and blood biochemical profile from dairy cows fed peas (Pisum sativum L.) as dietary protein supplement

Pea (Pisum sativum L.), a protein-rich legume seed well adapted to many climatic areas and widely used for feed and food, was fed to Italian Friesian breed cows for 16 weeks to assess its effects on milk yield and production, renneting properties and metabolic responses. Cows within each group were assigned to two isonitrogenous and isoenergetic concentrates based on corn plus soybean meal or p...

Effects of replacing soybean meal with canola meal and decreasing ‎crude ‎protein ‎on milk production and nutrient utilization of dairy cows in early lactation

This study investigated the effects of replacing soybean meal (SM) with canola meal (CM) and decreasing crude protein (‎CP) levels in CM based diets on performance of dairy cows when different sources of processed grains and CM were used. Canola meal was untreated or roasted at 130°C for 30 minutes and grains sources (corn and barley) were either ground or steamed-flaked. Eight Holstein cows (‎...
